Report of the English Literary Association Inauguration Function


PG & Research Department of English, Thiruvalluvar Government Arts College, Rasipuram inaugurated the activities of the English Literary Association and its affiliated clubs on 30 July, 2017. Dr.V.Suganthi, Assistant Professor of English and ELA Coordinator welcomed the gathering. Dr. S.Manimegalai, Principal, Thiruvalluvar Government Arts College, Rasipuram delivered the presidential address. Dr.P.Mythily, Associate Professor of English and Head, introduced the Chief Guest. The Chief Guest Dr.Pearl Kittu, Former Reader in English, NKR Government Arts College, Namakkal inaugurated the function by lighting the sacred lamp and administered oath to the incumbent office bearers. She distributed copies of the Hindu newspaper to the office bearers. Her inaugural speech followed which was interspersed with wit and humor. Sesqui Centennial Celebration of Mahathma Gandhiji’s Birth
Under the auspices of English Literary Association of PG &Research Department of English, Thiruvalluvar Government Arts College, Rasipuram Sesqui centennial celebration of Gandhiji’s birth was conducted on 30 September, 2019 in the Seminar Hall. To mark the birth of the Mahathma saplings were planted in the college campus. After offering floral tribute to our Father of our Nation, the function commenced with the singing of Tamil Thai vazhthu. Welcome address was delivered by ELA Secretary Ms. Vaishnavi of II.M.A. Class. The Principal Dr.S.Manimegalai addressed the gathering highlighting the deep moral values of the noble soul. The Head of the Department Dr.P.Mythily congratulated the students and the members of the staff for organizing the Programme. The plan for the conference was executed with the ardent support of our beloved Principal Dr. S. Manimegalai and the Convenor of the conference and the Head of the Department of English Dr. P. Mythily. The Principal of our institution Dr. S. Manimegalai delivered the inaugural address. The Conference Message was given by Dr. P. Mythily, Head of the Department of English.
